Ticketing
This page is your resource for helping to ensure a smooth and successful ticketing experience for your program at The Ford.
Ticket Reporting
Our ticketing system, Tessitura, offers the capability to provide you with daily Daily Sales Reports (DSR) via email. This daily update allows you to stay informed about your event's status and adjust marketing or outreach strategies as needed. Our team can assist you in setting up these automated reports to ensure you have real-time access to the information you need. Please provide no more than 3 people from your team to receive these reports.
Please specify who from your team should be receiving Daily Sales Reports in the Ticket Build Form, due Friday, February 14th.
Holds for Purchase & Discounts
Holds for Purchase tickets are tickets that are reserved for you to purchase for your own needs and reserved from the general sale inventory, and don't include a convenience fee. These are set up as part of the ticket build process and consist of 60 standard locations, unless otherwise determined.
You will work with our Advancing team to complete a Ticket Build form to select if you would like to opt in to our standard 60 Holds for Purchase locations, or need more or other locations. Reminder: there are blacked out seats, not available, so we will do our best to accommodate your requests with the next best available. Holds for Purchase locations are highlighted in pink on the map below.
Also, discounts can be set up on request for a limited number of tickets. Discounts need to be approved by the Director of Sales and Customer Experience and may impact your financial take home. They will need to be requested, and typically take approximately 5 business days to activate.
Key Deadlines
We have two ticketing deadlines- completing your Ticket Build and request of any discounts, and to either purchase your holds for purchase tickets or release them back to the public for sale. These deadlines are to ensure we can maximize your sales and reach your sales goals.

Ticketing Glossary
Ever read an article on pricing in the arts and wish someone could translate it into plain English? There are a lot of specialized terms to describe pricing tickets.
Base Price: The portion of the ticket price set by the producer. The Ford’s Facility/Programming fee, which is embedded in the ticket price, is added to the base price to make the full price. All patron discounts and licensing fees are based on the base price.
Comp tickets or Comps: Short for “complimentary tickets,” referring to free tickets available for distribution by the producer and the administrative team.
Consignment: Tickets sold by the producer/partner. Consignment revenue is still used to calculate the Ford’s licensing percentage. The Ford does not do consignment ticketing.
Convenience fee: Added to phone and web points of sale for the convenience of using these channels, this gets added to the Base Price. The patron sees this fee when they make their purchase.
Discount: Any decrease from the base ticket price. Student priced discounts would fall under discount.
Dynamic pricing: Pricing based on demand, where an organization sets a price point for a given event and increases or decreases the price based on how well it sells. The Ford does dynamic pricing with approval from the producer.
Facility fee: A County fee added to and embedded within the ticket price at all points of sale. Proceeds are allocated to a historic venue’s maintenance fund. At The Ford, it is 10% based on our operating lease.
Holds for Purchase: these are tickets reserved for the producer to purchase for their own needs and are reserved from the general on sale inventory. At The Ford, these are ticket purchases for partner's VIP's, Artists internal requests without convenience fees.
Papering the house: Giving out complimentary tickets to make the house look full.
Price table: Ticket prices for each event, which typically vary by buyer type (e.g. adult, subscriber).
Price zone: Areas of the house that have the same price point. The Ford has 9 zones.
